Permissions

Content Pilot only accesses documents you explicitly import or export. We never access your entire Drive.

Importing from Google Docs

  1. In the Content Editor, click "Import"
  2. Select "From Google Docs"
  3. Browse or search for your document
  4. Click "Import" to load the content

Formatting (headings, bold, links, lists) is preserved during import.

Exporting to Google Docs

  1. After optimizing your content, click "Export"
  2. Select "To Google Docs"
  3. Choose to create a new doc or overwrite the original
  4. Select the destination folder
  5. Click "Export"

Two-Way Sync

For Pro and Enterprise plans, enable two-way sync to:

  • Automatically update your Content Pilot draft when the Google Doc changes
  • Push changes back to Google Docs with one click
  • Collaborate with team members who prefer Google Docs

Troubleshooting

Can't find my document: Ensure the document is in your Drive (not shared with you only). Try searching by exact title.

Formatting issues: Complex formatting (tables, images) may not import perfectly. Review and adjust in the editor.

Permission errors: Reconnect your Google account in Settings → Integrations.
